The tragic and senseless killing of 17 year old Trayvon Martin in Florida has sent shockwaves throughout the country, especially within the Black community. Today in New York, a march will be held to send a message to the U.S. Attorney’s office that the people intent to seek justice for Martin’s death.

The march has been organized by Occupy Wall Street in conjunction with Occupy The Hood. These groups have helped bring attention to Martin’s case with the help of social media, with Facebook and Twitter trending the case’s developments worldwide. Today’s march will begin in Union Square Park and participants are asked to wear their hoodies to symbolize the alleged reason why Zimmerman saw the unarmed 17 year old as suspicious. #millionhoodies
