Forget Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady and the Manning’s, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco thinks he’s the best quarterback in the league. Flacco’s agent Joe Linta said he was a top-five quarterback, which caused a stir but is more believable. Flacco took it a step further in an interview with WNST 1570. “I assume everybody thinks they’re a top-five quarterback,” Flacco said when asked where he thinks he ranks among NFL quarterbacks. “I mean, I think I’m the best. I don’t think I’m top five, I think I’m the best. I don’t think I’d be very successful at my job if I didn’t feel that way. I mean, c’mon? That’s not really too tough of a question.”
Flacco missed the Super Bowl last season off a fateful dropped pass from Lee Evans. Aside from the dropped pass, Flacco’s numbers took a dip in 2011. Brees, Rodgers and Eli Manning have won the past three Super Bowls and Brady and Peyton have won multiple MVP titles. With a list like that there’s no question that Flacco isn’t the best quarterback in the league but I guess you have to tell yourself you are in order to boost your production. For his sake it better work.
