Rap Legend Q-Tip decides to continue his journey down the road of Hip Hop with Kanye West. The Queens native signed a deal with Island Def Jam this morning via Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint. Q-Tip produced the first three A Tribe Called Quest albums almost entirely by himself.
“I’m excited to be a part of the great iconic Def Jam label,” said Q-Tip.
“As far as G.O.O.D. Music, I’m excited to solidify my working relationship with Kanye, and I look forward to all the opportunities that lie ahead in our partnership. I will do my best to present the most cutting edge music I can.”
He has been involved with producing for RZA, Wale, Asher Roth, Chiddy Bang, Busta Rhymes, Beyonce, and Kanye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy along with a lot of other artist. Q-Tip was also involved in the production of the song That’s My B**** on the Kanye & Jay-Z’s Watch the Throne album.
Q-Tip will be releasing his forth solo studio album “the Last Zulu” in early part of next year.
