The Nets finished off the season 22-44 with a bad loss to the Toronto Raptors, 98-67. The last game pretty much summed up how bad the season was as the team was plagued with injuries and missed out on acquiring the highly coveted Dwight Howard. With these factors in place it seemed likely that Deron Williams would be gone but it appears he may have had a change of heart.
The Nets wrapped up their final game in New Jersey and a fresh start in Brooklyn could possibly change the team around. A visit to Brooklyn and the New Barclays Center helped Deron Williams see the positive perspective. He pictured the bright lights, big city and a team that could get healthy and change things around.
“I’ve got some big decisions to make. I think going to Brooklyn helped me see the vision again, so we’ll see what happens,” Williams said.
Williams is predicted to opt-out of the final year of his contract, he could return and just demand more money but much of this depends on free agency and possible trades. The allure of being in New York City is sure to attract good players but will it be enough?
