Adam Yauch, better known as MCA of the legendary Beastie Boys, dies today after a long battle with cancer. He was 47.

Along with Adam “King Ad Rock” Horowitz and Michael “Mike D” Diamond, MCA sold millions of albums and helped revolutionize the culture of Hip Hop. The Beastie Boys are pillars of Hip Hop’s staple label, Def Jam, and it’s certain that this is a severe loss to that entire family.
