SiriusXM Radio (NASDAQ: SIRI) and Grammy Award-winning superstar Usher sat down for a live Q&A session with an audience of Sirius XM Radio listeners at the Sirius XM studios in New York City yesterday. The special was hosted by veteran television and radio personality Sway Calloway of SiriusXM’s Sway in the Morning. The event was part of SiriusXM radio’s “Town Hall” series, intimate gatherings with iconic musicians and studio audiences of Sirius XM radio listeners.”Town Hall with Usher” included the “Lemme See” artist answering questions from the studio audience about his career, being a father of two, his upcoming album Looking 4 Myself, as well as some other pretty big issues going on in politics today.

During the session Usher answered a series of questions from Sway, including one on gay marriage, to which Usher, who was hesitant to answer, still managed to weigh in on. “Not In any political way…but if two people love each other they have the right to love each other,” he said.

In the interview, Usher also talked about bullying. “The school system should find a way to take the kids that are bullying and scare them straight,” stated the “Climax” singer,

Usher’s album is scheduled to be released Tuesday, June 12, and the singer acknowledged that his core fan base. “It’s Nice to know the ladies are still checking for me.”

The event was sponsored by The Heat, a channel on Sirius XM Radio t plays today’s R&B hits featuring artists like Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Usher, Rihanna, Keri Hilson, Drake and Mary J. Blige. Previous “Town Hall” specials have featured Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Coldplay, Ringo Starr, Renée Fleming and the surviving members of Nirvana. “Usher is not only an R&B star but one of the most talented artists in pop music today, and we are proud to have him join our Town Hall series to talk with his fans,” said Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer at SiriusXM.
