Rico Beats, producer of Pusha T’s track “Exodus 23:1”, claims he had no prior knowledge that the song would fire shots at Lil’ Wayne and Drake. “I didn’t hear none of these guys’ names brought up,” Rico told MTV News on Wednesday concerning the rumors that Pusha was taking shots at Drake and Lil Wayne on the track.
Pusha told Beats he wanted the beat to be “dark” for his fans but never specified further until Beats found out about the beef when it went viral.
