When the NBA draft lottery ended with the New Orleans Hornets getting the number one pick plenty of people screamed rigged. It was a viable assertion since the Hornets were recently owned by the NBA and only had a 13.7% chance of getting the first pick. Commissioner David Stern is of course fed up with dealing with the situation but that didn’t stop Jim Rome from asking. In a mocking tone, Stern shot back, “have you stopped beating your wife?” It wasn’t to infer that Rome beats his wife it was more a way to assert how ludicrous the question was. The two continued to engage in a heated exchange before Stern said, “I have to go call someone important now. Stephen A. Smith is up next.” Check out the audio HERE
