As time passes since the Thursday morning brawl at the nightclub W.i.P. between Drake and Chris Brown, each side has released statements concerning the event.
A Drake representative told TMZ “Drake did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P.,” and that “he was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. [Drake] did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property.” Drake is cooperating with the NYPD while they investigate.
Chris Brown’s representative, however, had a bit more detail than Drake’s: “Chris, [girlfriend] Karrueche [Tran] and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at W.i.P. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing the incident further.”
Other than Chris Brown’s Instagram photo of the gash on his face, the NYPD has confirmed the time and place of the hip-hop scuffle, as well as the injuries of four females and one male; the photo of Chris Brown’s bodyguard in the hospital has not been confirmed.
Social media has given a platform for more artists to weigh in on the fight, one of them being Roscoe Dash; he was not hesitant to personally tweet at both Drake and Meek Mill, who was there during the fight, that he lost a lot of respect for the two artists. Meek tweeted back claiming he had virtually nothing to do with the fight.
It’s clear this beef isn’t over, as neither artist has taken responsibility or attempted to make things right. As more unfolds and the investigation continues, we can only hope to learn more about how the altercation began and ended.
