All day we’ve been hearing about the Phoenix Suns and the New York Knicks being very close in closing a deal that would send Steve Nash to the Knicks in exchange for Iman Shumpert, Toney Douglas and other players.  Well now we’ve been hit with a huge curveball and it turns out that Steve Nash is going to the Los Angeles Lakers!  The Lakers have been short at the point guard position and tried to fill it with Ramon Sessions.  Sessions did pretty well but he all but disappeared during the playoffs.  He also decided to opt-out of the final year of his contract and become a free agent, leaving the Lakers on their point guard search yet again.  The Lakers had many guards in their radar but veteran guard Steve Nash is one they decided to go with.  The deal is reportedly to send Nash to the Lakers in exchange for draft picks.  From what I’ve read it’s at least two first rounder’s.  I’ll update if I get more info.  For right now that’s a crazy squad, Kobe, Nash, Bynum and Gasol if they decide to keep the latter two.
