News broke late last night that Mac Miller is reportedly being sued by Hip-Hop legend, Lord Finesse for $10 million dollars. The lawsuit stems from Miller’s use of a “Hip 2 Da Game” sample. You may remember “Kool Aid & Frozen Pizza,” off of his K.I.D.S mixtape. The lawsuit which was filed after Finesse says he filed a cease and desist letter in early July without much response. Finesse is aiming on certain subjects including, copyright infringement, unfair competition, unjust enrichment, interference, deceptive trade practices, and a number of related state law claims.
In a statement on the issue Finesse stated, “This is a case about a teenage rapper–Mac Miller–copying the music from a song written, produced and performed by Lord Finesse, a hip hop legend, changing the title and then distributing it under his own name in order to launch his music career.”
