Roc-A-Fella had their hands in everything at one point or another and that included the film industry.  Taking it back to 2002 for this week’s Throwback Movie, we take a look at “Paid in Full,” a street film produced by Roc-A-Fella Films and starring Mekhi Phifer, Wood Harris, and Cam’ron. 

The crime drama narrates the lives of three friends living in Harlem during the Crack Epidemic that plagued the city.  Ace (Wood Harris), works at a dry cleaner’s shop finding himself in a dead end job, he looks into the world of drug dealing and quickly rises to the top of the scene with his friends. Ace experiences the rise and fall of being on top of the kingdom when betrayal and rivals aim to take him down.

The soundtrack to “Paid in Full,” is stacked with contributions from Eric B. & Rakim, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, Kanye West, Jay-Z, Cam’ron, The Diplomats, Dame Dash, and Master P.
