Pull out your rule book…Zombieland is returning
After crushing the competition at the box-office and making fans out of critics and viewers alike, Zombieland has become the top-grossing zombie film to date. Attempting to capitalize on its financial and critical success, Amazon will be adding a pilot based on the 2009 hit to its slate of upcoming original programming. Unfortunately, the news isn’t entirely great as Amazon has committed only to the pilot and will be waiting for feedback before deciding to take it farther. Furthermore, the original cast will not be returning and Kirk Ward, Tyler Ross, Maiara Walsh, and Izabela Vidovic will take their place as the four survivors outlasting the zombie apocalypse and finding a place in the new world. There’s still hope for the Amazon pilot as the film’s writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be returning as well as producer Gavin Polone. Only time will tell if this project comes to fruition and this makes us wonder if Zombieland 2 will ever come to light.
