No more laptop streaming
Soccer/Football fans across America rejoice, NBC has just signed a three-year $250 million deal with the English Premier League.
The picture above has the breakdown for what channels will be showing how many games per year, but all 380 seasons game will be viewable. The games that are not going to be aired by NBCUniversal will have their own package that you can purchase Premier League Extra Time. This package will be free for those who receive NBC Sports Network.
Championship Sunday will be aired on ten channels simultaneously showcasing the final ten games of the EPL season.
This deal will also bring heavy supplemental shows to the US audience with pre-game and post-game coverage. Along with the pre/post game coverage there will be a Saturday night show called Match Of The Day, which will feature two hours of highlights. Match Of The Day will be repeated on Sunday mornings as well with Match Of The Day 2.
Premier League Game Zone will air the weekend’s goals as soon as the action is over Sunday. Missed the game of the week? Don’t worry because Sunday nights will re-run the best game of the weekend.
The deal will kick in next season so get excited, more importantly this deal may increase the popularity of soccer in the states with the World Cup coming up in 2014.
