“Hotel California” moves 51K in first week

Down from his last album “Careless World”which brought in 61,000, the YMCMB rapper’s latest effort raked in 51,466 copies in its first week, slightly above projected estimates. For Tyga, however, the rapper doesn’t let first week numbers effect his morale, focusing instead on the final numbers.

Recently, the California MC discussed not receiving his royalties from YMCMB despite having released three studio albums. Unlike former Cash Money label mates, Juvenile and Mannie Fresh, Tyga doesn’t let financial mix-ups come between him and his label.

Check what the emcee had to say below.

“I never got a check from Young Money/Cash Money but by me saying that, I’ve always treated my career like independent and everything that I got is because of myself, my own endorsements, me touring, myself. I think I got a signing bonus when I first signed but that was it. At a certain time, you get your money but at the same time, they pay for your videos and all that other stuff. But I never really was dependent on the label like that.”
