On Thursday evening The Source was on the red carpet for the New York premiere of the Epix Original Documentary “Amar’e Stoudemire: In The Moment” at Marquee Nightclub. The film chronicles Stoudemire’s childhood, career, struggles with injury, fatherhood, and playing on the Knicks. “I wanted this to be very organic, I just wanted the viewers to know that it’s pure, I don’t want to edit it, I don’t want to correct anything. I want them to see the actual footage, how it is,” Stoudemire said of the documentary.
Other notables in attendance included Timbaland, Iman Shumpert, Patrick Ewing, Chris Copeland, Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler, to name a few.
Round 1 of the NBA Playoffs is today with the New York Knicks set to play the Boston Celtics. Stoudemire will have to sit this game out as he recovers. He told reporters,”It’s frustrating to the point that I’m battling injuries, but it’s also phenomenal knowing that what I actually started is happening…I think we got a great chance to win the title.”
When asked when he is returning to the court, he said, “Hopefully soon. We’ll see…No, I’m not nervous more so I just want to be healthy and strong and in top shape to be able to play.”
