Things got really testy after the Boston Celtics came in and stole a game on the Knicks home court. The Knicks entered the game pretty confident that they would close things out, wearing all black for the “Celtics funeral”. Unfortunately for them that was not the case and the Celtics won 92-86 to force a game 6 back in Boston.
As the players were exiting the court things erupted between the two teams. Jordan Crawford looks to have said something in relation to Carmelo Anthony’s wife who if you remember was at the center of a previous altercation between Melo and Kevin Garnett. It appears Crawford said “my boy f**ked your wife” or something of that nature in regards to Kevin Garnett allegedly saying Lala tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios. You can watch the video for yourself and see if you can decipher it.
Celtics coach Doc Rivers was unhappy with the scuffle and said, “I didn’t see it. I wasn’t happy with it. Woody (Mike Woodson) wasn’t happy with it. Let’s play basketball. Let’s play really physical basketball and let’s walk off the floor.” He continued, “I don’t know what happened. Glad (John) Starks wasn’t there (laughs).”
Knicks players weren’t happy about the scuffle either. J.R Smith said they were “acting like a bunch of school girls” and “need to get back to basketball”. Carmelo Anthony was also of course asked about the situation and responded, “I’m not thinking about no Jordan Crawford. … I don’t even think he deserves for you to be typing right now”.
