LeBron to join elite group with 4th MVP award
The inevitable has arrived and will be announced this Sunday, LeBron James is going to win his 4th career NBA MVP award. LeBron will be joining an elite group of players that have won four MVP awards, the list includes Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Wilt Chamberlain.
Some thought the New York Knicks’ Carmelo Anthony would breakthrough and take the MVP with the stellar season that the Knicks had, but there was simply too much LeBron this year. Leading the Heat to a 66-16 record wasn’t all LeBron did this season he also guided the Heat through a 27-game winning streak. Season averages? He posted 26.8 ppg, 8 rpg, and 7.3 apg while shooting career bests in shooting percentage (.565) and 3-point percentage (.406). King James got it done on the defensive end as well finishing second in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Can James pass Kareem Abdul-Jabar who leads everyone with six NBA MVP awards?
Heat are currently awaiting the winner of the Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets series in the second round of the playoffs.
