Slowly but surely, it seems as if new Kanye West music is coming.

Last night, the annual Met Gala, hosted by Vogue featured no shortage of celebrities and superstar personalities, none more scrutinized than that of Kanye west and Kim Kardashian. The father-to-be tweeted the words “June eighteen” last week, which sent the internet in a frenzy with hope that the 12 character tweet was alluding to a new album from Yeezy. Though these hopes haven’t been qualified, the rumored single from said album, “I Am A God” has finally become more than just a fleeting rumor. Last night, Ye apparently performed the single for the crowd at the Met Gala. Though the Vine re-counts of the performance are barely audible, the one below, snatched from (of course) A-Trak’s account clearly depicts Ye belting out the words “I am a god” before beginning the performance. Vogue will be releasing an official HD video of the performance this coming Friday, so we’ll have to wait for that. Whether its storming into the Facebook and Twitter offices, or taking the stage at a historic museum event, Ye continues to re-invent the way he debuts music.
