Durant gives a $1 million to the Red Cross

Two days ago tornados ripped through Moore, Oklahoma destroying countless homes, businesses, schools, and hospitals. To help Moore rebuild Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has stepped up to the plate to donate $1 million of his own money to the rebuilding of Moore. This is what Durant had to say;

“As the day went on and I saw the footage and the casualties and the houses being blown away, it was tough to see. I call Oklahoma City my home. I go through Moore all the time. It’s unfortunate. We’re going to come together as a city like we always do and we’re going to bounce back.”

For a fan base that supports Durant and his Thunder so much all Durant wants to do is give back. The American Red Cross has said that Durant’s donation is an incentive for not only people to give, but to try and match his pledge. The Oklahoma City Thunder, the NBA, and the Player’s Union have already matched Durant’s donation.
