Maintaining his feet fresh and those of high fashion aficionados, West’s deal with the heralded fashion house made major headlines and broke strides, literally. After the Air Yeezy has some room to breathe, it was on to this venture, which saw his product sell out in just two weeks. Kanye etched his way into sneaker advertising lore with a galvanic but admirable ad in 2009 for his Louis Vuitton kicks. He posed with then girlfriend Amber Rose, who raised many eyebrows as she laid in her birthday suit with Ye. Each sneaker was given a unique name; there was the Jasper, the Don’s, and the Mr. Hudson’s.
The partnership came to an end in 2011 due to the fact that Louis Vuitton decided to drop the project. There was no correlation between Kanye’s life outside of his work and the shoe’s termination, simply, Louis Vuitton did not let Kanye continue.
