Jay-Z under investigation by NFLPA after Instagram picture
Geno Smith announced that he would be joining Roc Nation Sports this past Wednesday, but now the head of Roc Nation Sports is under investigation by the NFLPA. The NFLPA is looking in Jay-Z’s role in “recruiting” Geno Smith to join his agency. The rule that Jay-Z has allegedly violated is the “runner rule.” The “runner rule” prohibits non-agents from recruiting athletes for agencies.
The NFLPA plans to send a letter of inquiry to Kim Miale (Smith’s acutal agent) to figure out how much of a role Jay-Z had in Smith’s choosing of Roc Nation Sports. Smith had fired his previous agents after he fell to the 39th pick of this year’s NFL Draft.
I guess the be careful what you Instagram saying now applies to Jay-Z as well.
