So Kevin, what exactly are you explaining in this movie?

Kevin: I’m explaining my life. Ups and downs, good and bad, positive and negative, rumors, called rumors, romance mysteries, unsolved mysteries, family debacles, and money. Pretty much anything that anybody has ever said, or thought, I’m establishing the truth in this movie. That’s why I call it “Let Me Explain.”

Were there any ‘Mitch’ moments while filming?

Kevin: No, this is a Mitch-free zone. This is all me. The Mitch moments are all strictly in “The Real Husbands of Hollywood.” This is a Mitch free area; strictly stand-up comedy. This is Kevin Hart based.

How do you feel about bringing back comedy to the movies?

Kevin: It’s a good feeling. I’m doing what was done at some point in time by greats. Hence, Eddie Murphy, Pryor, the Kings of Comedy; these are all guys who have done this. So right now, I’m just following a path that has already been laid out for me. Just within our generation nobody has done it, so for me to be able to do it now is kind of big. And I think my fan-base is loyal enough to stay true to me, support me, and appreciate the hard work and effort that I’m putting out.

How do you intertwine hip-hop within the film?

Kevin: I think hip-hop is so universal now, and so worldwide, that it’s not something that has to be intertwined. It’s what’s in our everyday society now. So, whether it’s music, or whether it’s a lifestyle, it’s pretty much around us on a regular basis. Within my film, musically, it’s in there. Within myself, where I’ve come, and where I’ve grown up, it’s in me. It’s in my friends, it’s pretty much in the dynamics of my touring. That’s how I personally intertwine it, but it’s not something that is a task, or that’s forced.

Following the screening, guests made their way over to SL where they snacked on mini mac ‘n cheese and sliders and drank red bull cocktails and Stella Artois, while listening to music by DJ Kid Capri.

Summit Entertainment, a LIONSGATE Company, will release the film nationwide on July 3, 2013.
