One of Born Sinner’s standout cuts gets a very, very, very appropriate upgrade.
Despite J. Cole adamantly denying that there was a song on his sophomore album titled “I Disappointed Nas”, when the official tracklist was released, something to the same effect, “Let Nas Down”, was very present. The song, which detailed J. Cole’s thought process leading up to the creation of his crossover/mainstream “Work out” single and finding out Nas was very disappointed in the outcome, was a very special moment on Cole’s Born Sinner album for both Cole and his fans. To add to the occasion, Nas himself congratulated Jermaine on a job well done less than 3 days after the release of the album, and to further show that his feelings towards Cole’s music this time around have greatly chanced, Nasir Jones joins J. Cole on the remix to “Let Nas Down”, aptly titled “Made Nas Proud”. Have a listen below, and appreciate this thing we call hip-hop.
