Super Bowl XXVII Halftime Performance
In Pasadena, California, Michael Jackson changed the game as far as halftime shows are concerned. Standing on the 50 yard line in one of sports grandest stadiums, the Rose Bowl, Michael Jackson performed solo, a first in Super Bowl history. He started the performance by being catapulted on stage then striking his famous poses. MJ’s set included the songs Jam, Billie Jean, and Black or White. The finale featured audience participation, a video montage showing his many humanitarian efforts around the world, and a choir of 3,500 Los Angeles area children singing We Are The World, who then joined Jackson as he got into his single “Heal the World”.
