Future’s run of hit records, background vocal greatness and chorus lacing isn’t coming to an end any time soon it seems. Overlooked as a single, “Chosen One”, featuring his label head Rocko, finds 808s Mafia giving Future one of the better trap beats you’ll hear this year, or next, for that matter. The perplexing synthesized strings in the introduction to the song don’t necessarily scream southern trap, which makes the impact of that first looped bass line, over which Future proclaims, “Bought a Phantom ‘cuz I always wanted one”, that much more effective.
