In a conversation with The Sun, Diplo admits Bey might be starting from scratch.

The Mrs. Carter World Tour was supposed to coincide with new Beyonce music. That’s how it was supposed to go down this summer and fall, and according to Diplo, that may no longer be the case. Responsible for some of the more encompassing hits over the past few years across all genres, including rap (Wale’s “Slight Work”), R&B, (Usher’s “Climax”), and a slew of other reggae/pop cuts as of late. He’s also responsible for the sound of Mrs. Carter’s last lead single, “Girls”. He was apparently called in to work more on Bey’s upcoming album, and it was his impression that the core work of it was done. However, to Diplo‘s surprise, he was called in for “new ideas”.

I just did two songs for her new album, well, I tried. I think she scrapped the record. The record was supposed to be done and they have been hitting me up for brand new ideas.

Could this be possible? After the very southern Hit-Boy/Timbaland produced “Bow Down/I Been On”, it seemed as if Beyonce was storming back on to the scene as energetic as ever, and the Timbo-produced “Grown Woman”, seemed as if the Beyonce album-push had officially begun. Now, with no official lead single, video, title or release date, this LP might not be coming out this year at all. Sorry Bey-Hive.
