No Justice No Peace… Know Justice Know Peace!

This has been a very melancholy and shocking weekend as George Zimmerman was found not guilty in the tragic murder of Florida teenager Trayvon Martin. We all were optimistic that justice would be served, but sadly it was not.

Yesterday (July 14, 2013), Singer Solange Knowles took to the streets of New York by staging a rally in Brooklyn, outside of Borough Hall. Hundreds of people came out to back Knowles in support of getting justice for the Martin family as she held a plaque quoting the words of legendary human rights activist, Malcolm X: “I’m for truth, no matter who tells it. I’m for justice, no matter who it’s for or against.”

Over the weekend, other famous celebs such as Nicki Minaj and Rihanna took to their social media outlets to express their disappointment about the verdict, as Rihanna stated: “A child was gunned down for no reason! And nothing about that sounds like murder? My baby brother is 17, this rocked my whole sh**”.

Meanwhile, in Nashville, Tennessee Beyonce held a moment of silence during her Saturday night concert, in honor of Trayvon Martin.

If everyone continues to stick together by being proactive and making our voices heard , we can conquer anything!

What if it were your loved one?
