After being out for a week, Jay Z’s new Magna Carta Holy Grail album headed to the top of the charts.
According to Neilsen SoundScan data, the rap veteran has currently sold 527,000 copies. WOAH! That’s a huge accomplishment despite the new controversial sound that most haven’t yet come to terms with.
His debut at No. 1 makes this Hov’s 13th number 1 album on the billboard.

The Brooklyn rapper went a different route with this album by incorporating new sounds we wouldn’t expect from Jay, while including various artists such as Justin Timberlake, Rick Ross, Frank Ocean, and the love of his life Beyonce.
