The countdown begins for A-Rod’s imminent ban

By now hopefully everyone is sick about hearing about A-Rod’s possible suspension and we are all just wishing the MLB will get on with it. This talk may carry on for a little bit longer if A-Rod appeals his upcoming suspension, but in the end he will probably lose. Now reports are surfacing that MLB commissioner Bud Selig won’t even allow A-Rod to appeal his suspension.

Selig is preparing to use one of the most rarely used and extreme powers by MLB commissioners, which is the right to take action against a player to preserve the integrity of the game. As stated in Article XI A1b of the MLB’s collective bargaining agreement Selig would ultimately prevent A-Rod from ever seeing a major league baseball field ever again.

A-Rod would be suspended on the grounds of interfering with the MLB’s investigation of Biogenesis on top of violating baseball’s drug program. Investigator’s from the MLB believe that A-Rod attempted to intimidate witnesses along with attempting to purchase incriminating documents.

The downside of Selig using this power is the court cases and headaches that will follow by the Player’s Association and Rodriguez himself. Yet, reports have said that Selig sees those possible scenarios as worth it when it comes to banning A-Rod.

As of now there are mixed reports of A-Rod trying to strike a deal and A-Rod getting ready to appeal his suspension, so now we all just got to sit back and wait.

That leads us to this question, will we ever see Alex Rodriguez on a baseball field ever again?
