According to a Brooklyn hairstylist, rapper Foxy Brown recently walked out on a $900 bill, the charge for a custom weave install and ombre color job.
The stylist claims that after she hooked Foxy up with the custom look, the 34 year-old rapper gushed about the ‘do–then dipped, prompting the stylist to chase her down and demand payment. After numerous attempts to receive the payment, the Brooklyn salon owner then turned to Instagram, uploading a photo of the rapper’s finished hair with the quote:
“THIS HERE IS MY WORK. THE PERSON PHOTOGRAPHED IS IN FACT FOXY BROWN AKA INGA MARCHAND. I DID THIS NET WEAVE WITH A CUSTOM SPACE SO THAT HER HEARING AID COULD SLIDE IN AND MAGNETICALLY ATTACH TO HER HEAD. I HAVE NO REASON TO LIE ABOUT DOING HER HAIR ESPECIALLY BECA– USE SHE IS NOTHING MORE THAN A HAS BEEN.
I’M UPSET BECA– USE I RESPECTED AS A NEW CUSTOMER DESPITE WHAT HAS BEEN SAID ABOUT HER. I KNOW I DID AN AMAZING JOB ON HER, IT’S BEEN A LONG TIME SINCE HER HAIR LOOKED BEAUTIFUL. SHE LOVED IT…DANCED AROUND IN THE SALON AND SAID “GSTAR YASSSSSS MY HAIR IS LAID”!!! SHE THEN WALKED OUT REQUIRING ME TOCHASE HER AND ASK FOR MY PAYMENT. I HAVE MANY WITNESSES THAT WERE THERE TO SUPPORT HER NOT PAYING ME. I WILL BE GIVING A MORE DETAILED STORY OF EVENTS SHORTLY. I THANK EVERYONE FOR THE SUPPORT.”
The conflict didn’t end there, and in an apparent follow-up video the stylist demands the money from Foxy Brown in a Brooklyn store.
Screenshots of an alleged text conversation between the Brooklyn rapper and the hairdresser have also surfaced. In Brown’s text, she accuses the stylist of harassing her for the money, claiming a check will be sent from her business manager and that the constant requests for payment were both “annoying and unprofessional”.
The hairy situation is not the first in Foxy Brown’s career, it follows a string of similar incidents, most recent being her 2004 assault on two manicurists in Chelsea.
