Today’s Mathematics is Understanding

Peace! Today’s Mathematics is Understanding. Understanding is clear comprehension which is drawn up through the Knowledge and Wisdom that one has acquired and is perfectly Understood when seen through the third eye, otherwise known as the mind. Understanding is the best part because it allows you to see things for what they actually are instead of what they just appear or present themselves to be. Understanding also represents one’s direction because it allows one to See what the future holds.

It has been said to believe half of what you See and none of what you hear, however, Understanding is developed from what is seen and heard, so this cliche is unapologetically wrong. Why would one not listen to Philadelphia Eagles WR Riley Cooper, who has been excused from training camp for spewing a racial slur at a security guard at a concert in June which was caught on video. Not only was he fined and ordered to undergo sensitivity training, but his teammates are shunning him for his ignorant blunder. It’s not an opinion whether or not he has racist views. It’s just a matter of whether or not we See things for what they are. Even though it’s only a small percentage of inmates who are still participating in the California prison hunger strike, it’s enough to make prison officials sit down with prison advocates to modify the conditions requested by the inmates. Yes, even gang members and predicate felons can achieve victory against an inhumane system when the goal is a righteous cause. In the latest news about the Trayvon Martin/George Zimmerman case, Speaker of Florida’s House of Representatives Will Weatherford said that lawmakers in the troubled state will review Stand Your Ground laws to avoid future tragedies. The problem with that is Zimmerman didn’t even use the law as a defense to get acquitted. In better news, the First Annual Trayvon Martin Invitational Basketball Tournament was held in Harlem at Holcombe Rucker Park. Ironically, the tournament was won by the Sean Bell All Stars of Jamaica, Queens.  Lets Build to ensure that we have no more teams or tournaments named after young brothers that were unnecessarily slain.

Understanding is simply insight. This is what is meant when someone asks, “Do you see what I’m saying?” In order to really open that third eye and See the reality of Self and other Ciphers around us, the Knowledge and Wisdom of the said Cipher are prerequisites. Seeing things for what they are and not what they seem is the key principle in Understanding. Peace to all!
