New Soul? Hopefully this means a project is on the way

TDE’s been quieter than usual lately, no? With Kendrick Lamar‘s debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, successfully platinum, and ScHoolboy Q‘s debut album rollout, “Yay Yay” and “Collard Greens” aside, pretty stagnant, California’s crown rap jewel hasn’t made much noise lately.

Now, cue in new music from the conspiracy theory enthusiast, self-proclaimed black lipped bastard California emcee Ab-Soul and you’ve got a resurgence on your hands. Produced by one of the more overlooked producers of the past couple years, Digiphonics’ Willie B, Ab-Soul‘s new cut will take you for a starting from the artwork. Fashioned after the military portrait of Christopher Dorner, the condemned former member of the LAPD who was infamously hunted down by his former employers earlier this year, the cover art prepares you for the anarchic journey Soul brother #2 brings you on. Correctly describing his filthy flow, “I’m so foul its birds around”, Ab doesn’t waste any time reminding you why he’s not just possibly the most talented lyricist TDE has to offer, but quite possibly one of the most talented lyricists walking this earth. Enjoy Soul’s new sounds, mixed by Ali (of course).
