On Thursday, August 22, Tennis Icons Serena and Venus Williams attended the 14th Annual BNP Paribas Taste of Tennis at the W Hotel.The evening was hosted by Serena and Chef Marcus Samuelsson.
Taste of Tennis is one of our favorite US Open festivities because it unites some of the greatest tennis players around the world with the greatest chefs. Guests were able to sample fabulous dishes from Jesse Schenker (Recette), Harold Dieterle (Kin Shop, The Marrow and Perilla), Jonathan Waxman (Barbuto), and Top Chef Masters’ David Burke and Zac Young (David Burke Group) to name a few.
Other notables in attendance included Adrienne Bailon and tennis champion Victoria Azarenka. The evening benefitted the James Beard Foundation.

Later that evening, guests headed to Heineken’s Official US Open Kick-Off Party at the Dream Downtown’s penthouse PH-D. Rosario Dawson and Russell Simmons were in attendance. Heineken is doing some really cool things surrounding the US Open, particularly the introduction of the Heineken House, the all new experiential area where fans can enjoy the open outside of the matches.
