Over 2,000 guests enjoyed a surprise performance by Mackelmore & Ryan Lewis, who jumped into the audience following their set which included smash hits “Can’t Hold Us” and “Thrift Shop.” Robin Thicke opened with “Blurred Lines,” the song of the summer before serenading the crowd and his wife Paula Patton who danced the night away to her husband’s beats.

The intimate concert, which benefited Lifebeat – Music Fights HIV/AIDS, a national nonprofit focused on HIV/AIDS education and prevention, was part of a series of events leading up to tomorrow night’s 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, which will air live from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center at 9:00pm ET/CT.
