Two weeks is a pretty long time in this fast paced, social media infested hip-hop world of today. After Kendrick Lamar‘s “Control” verse, a.k.a the verse heard around the globe, where he claimed to be the “King of New York”, Joey Bada$$ released a furious stream of tweets expressing his disapproval of the Compton rapper’s inflammatory bars. Fans knew that it was only a matter of time until the Pro Era General responded…just not this long.

Last night, after the VMA’s were over and done with, Joey took to his twitter and unleashed “Killumanti Pt. 2”–his long awaited response to Kendrick. Bada$$ assured Kendrick that he was not only the next in line for the throne, but that he was all of his forefathers combined into one. Unlike the fiery and hyped “Control” track, the Brooklyn emcee decides to take a little slower, rapping over a Knxwledge smooth jazz sample.

Now that Joey Bada$$ has said his piece, whats going to happen next. Will the rappers actually mentioned in the song finally take it to the booth and take shoots of their own? Does Kendrick set his sights on Bada$$? We have to wait and see…hopefully shorter than two weeks. You can check out the song below.
