The NCAA shows their kid teeth in Manziel suspension

The NCAA strikes again by delivering another inconsistent ruling.

The Johnny Manziel autograph for money saga is officially over as the NCAA hit the Texas A&M quarterback with one of the most severe suspensions to date. The NCAA has suspended Johnny Manziel for the first half of Texas A&M’s opener against Rice this Saturday.

That’s right Manziel will only need to sit the first half this Saturday which in turn will put this issue to bed. The NCAA has acknowledged that Manziel did not break the amateurism rules by accepting money for autographs, but hey isn’t doing nothing better than a first-half suspension?

This comes just after a week where the NCAA nearly forbid an ex-Marine from playing college football along with denying Kerwin Okoro’s transfer request. Okoro transferred from Iowa State to Rutgers following the death of his brother and father. His request for a hardship waiver allowing him to play this season was denied.
