Floyd “Money” Mayweather landed at No. 1 on both the Forbes and Sports Illustrated lists of highest paid athletes in 2012. In February of this year, the controversial boxer left HBO and landed a 30-month, six-fight deal with Showtime that is estimated at $200 million. Floyd’s fight with Miguel Cotto brought in over 1.5 million PPV buys, and his bout against Robert Guerrero saw Mayweather make close to $32 million in guaranteed money with Showtime. The Pretty Boy of boxing is gearing up for his next big fight, and he is already projected to earn a minimum of $90 million for his bout against Canelo Alvarez in September, which ac- cording to Forbes and Sports Illustrated will make Money Mayweather No. 1 in 2013 earnings as well. —Roger Krastz
