In what has been another stellar year for President Benjy Grinberg and Vice President Arthur Pitt, Rostrum Records continues to prove why they are the prevailing independent label. Over the past year, independent labels have been a force to be reckoned with and leading the wave of indie domination is the Pittsburgh-based label. Grinberg is no stranger to the Power 30, coming in at No. 23 on last year’s list. Wiz Khalifa’s O.N.I.F.C. made its debut on the Billboard charts at No. 2, pushing 148,000 units in its first week. The Taylor Gang general also released his collaborative EP Live in Concert with Curren$y, originally intended as a free offering. Rostrum’s success continued to impress when Mac Miller went head-to-head with Kanye West and J. Cole, pushing 101,795 copies in his first week and landing at No. 3 on the Billboard charts. With Wiz Khalifa prepping the release of his fifth studio album, Blacc Hollywood, due out later this year, it’s safe to say that Rostrum Records’ excellence will continue to shine. —Ben Lester
