Wayne’s latest is here. Who knows what to expect

If anything is consistent about Lil’ Wayne, especially as of late, its the element of surprise, and his ability to appall anyone from the avid hip-hip fan to political juggernauts. In the past year, Wayne has suffered from a seizure that put him in the hospital for six days, been publicly defamed by the family of slain civil rights icon Emmitt Till for his controversial lyrics on Future‘s “Karate Chop RMX”, put out a–for lack of a better word–not very good album and been not-invited to two of the biggest award shows of the year. While this is all tumultuous career-wise, to say the least, as far as his ability on the mic, Wayne has done little do distance himself. The easily forgettable Dedication 4 did spawn a mild hit for Wayne to hinge I Am Not A Human Being 2 on (“No Worries”), but planted the seed in the public’s mind that Weezy was merely a shade of what he once proclaimed himself to be less than 5 years ago: the best rapper alive. On the DJ Drama hosted Dedication 5, Wayne will try to re-establish himself as a respectable lyricist, something he hasn’t successfully done since No Ceilings, while tackling some of the hottest beats from today and (metaphorically of course) yesterday. How successful was he? Find out, download D5…now.
