Mayweather gets a hefty guarantee
The hype around the Mayweather vs. Alvarez fight just got realer.
Forget about Floyd Mayweather winning or losing on September 14th for a second because he is getting $41.5 million to just show up. That is right folks despite a favorable or unfavorable outcome for Mayweather in the ring he is getting a nice pay day.
This is a record guarantee fee for Mayweather who surpasses his previous two guarantee prices which he received against Miguel Cotto (twice) and Robert Guerrero. For those three fights the guaranteed money maxed out at $32 million.
Mayweather takes on Canelo Alvarez on September 14th for the WBA super welterweight title, Alvarez’s WBC, and The Ring light middleweight titles.
This $41.5 million also puts Mayweather in first place for highest earning athlete. Expect ridiculous sports bets to follow.
