Notable Songs: “Ready”; “Beautiful”; “Do Me Now (Feat. Hit-Boy)”; “Point Of Impact”; “Gasping For Air”; “Diamonds (Feat. Mibbs)”.

Hit-Boy is not the only producer in the crew. K. Roosevelt has produced for acts such as BJ The Chicago Kid, Game, and Jhene Aiko. However, he is an artist in his own right. Roosevelt combines his unique talents behind the boards with his singing voice, often manipulated with autotune, to create a distinctive R&B sound. At some points it is hard hitting, with dark and deep drums, while at other times, the music is soft, laced with gorgeous guitars and layered vocals.

Roosevelt’s RoseGold EP contains nine interesting experimental tracks. While a lot of artist have been cashing in on the hip-hop and R&B fusion, he is not tied down to a specific persona. He can be a player, “Beautiful,” or a lover, “Do Me Now,” the only constant, is that he can craft some really smooth songs. The production on the EP is well done, and majority of it was handled by Roosevelt himself. Thanks to this, the tracks come off really cohesively, even though some songs seem to contradict themselves.

He has a really smooth and unique sound that reminds me of early Trey Songs. He is still learning, but I’m sure he will be making some serious moves in the near future. Roosevelt’s name will probably be seen on a lot of feature lists.
