In “Safety”, gone are the pretty colors, happy feelings, and the smiling Rome that were focal points in his previous visuals. Instead, the video is shot in black and white, features very minimal images that serve to drape it in a hauntingly dark shadow. There is fire, murder, and a cameo from a beautiful woman, all serving to exemplify Rome’s manic mind-state. At the same time, the lyrics of the song play at the bottom of the screen, making it easy for viewers to see exactly what he is saying and the vocal image he is painting.
