The War Report For The Week of 9/30/2013

1. Hollohan Vs. Charlie Clips

Hollohan was once on par with Pat Stay as the most beloved battle rapper in Canada. Then, court cases, rumors, death and jail time stopped his trajectory abruptly. Upon his release, his return to the ring was highly anticipated. We’ve seen a lot of big name’s return to battling after a hiatus this year. It only makes sense as there’s more money in the battle world than ever before and the results have thus far been pretty satisfying. Dose came back to battle Math Hoffa in an impressive showing. Hollow Da Don returned to the ring with hefty expectations on his shoulders, in a performance that showed to be well crafted, but not until it dropped on footage. Now it was Hollohan’s turn. Meanwhile, Clips is coming off what many considered to be his first clear loss against B-Magic.

Ultimately, Clips showed why he’s considered such a force in the battle world. When he really prepares and puts in the effort, he’s one of the best out there. He has bars, multi’s, aggression, flow and he knows how to put on a show. Hollohan’s performance had all of the things that made him a big name in battle rap, only not as much of it as he needed. There were great moments, aggression and mutli’s. There were some soul-bearing moments, but not enough. In the end, it was a great battle for Hollohan, and an excellent battle for Clips.

Most Memorable Bars- “He has an eating disorder, among other things, like I’ll get dis-order of fries and dis-order of onion rings.” -Hollohan
“My Career is missing something, I’ve never murdered a white man, on the real deal your swag Okwerds, you look like you get your clothes of the night stand. Ask pat stay what happened when ice land, we can fight fam, it will be a Dizaster from this left or this right hand, two white boys, get your life scammed, big k with the white can, you survive, yeah, Jew-wish like Soul Khan and his hype man. I’ll know the juice out the lid of hype man man, the silencer make it go “tsssss.” You don’t know if I’m shooting or trying to open a Sprite can.” – Charlie Clips
