If I told you about a rapper from Harlem who signed to Bad Boy records, helped Diddy make hits and left rap for religion, you’d automatically assume I was talking about Ma$e right? Well not quite. Loon, like Betha, was a Harlem-bred smooth talker that came up under the tutelage of Sean Combs and left rap to be born again, albeit as a Muslim. But unlike Murda Ma$e, all Loon has to show for it is a career of diss shots from the original fly talking Harlem Bad Boy, most recently on G.O.O.D. Music’s Cruel Summer album where Ma$e spits “I bumped into Loon he like, ‘Well, as-salamu alaykum’/You know I ain’t Muslim my nigga, I’m about my bacon.”
