Rosemond said nothing in Brooklyn Federal court on Friday but Federal Judge John Gleeson had plenty to say.

“You’re the kingpin,” Federal Judge John Gleeson said. “Not all kingpins necessarily deserve a life sentence but you certainly do.”

Rosemond,48, described as “intelligent” by Gleeson was convicted in 2012 of overseeing a drug trade that spanned across the country netting $11 million annually.

“His image as a music impresario was a cover for the real Jimmy Rosemond, a thug in a suit,” said Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Loretta Lynch.

The one-time suspect behind the murder of Tupac Shakur has worked with the likes of actor Michael K. Williams, Sean Combs and Rev. Al Sharpton.

Rosemond’s dealings with the legal system isn’t over just yet. He is expected to stand trial in Manhattan Federal Court for the murder-for-hire charges involving the death of an associate of rapper 50 Cent.
