Drake is literally starting from the bottom this time, hoping that “here” means the national championship at the end of the season. As every rap fan knows by now, the perennial king of radio had his beginnings in Toronto, Canada. His hometown holds a permanent place in both his heart and mind, which is then infused into his music. He has already started a successful music festival in the city, but now he wants to show his appreciation in a non-musical way.
Being a longtime fan of basketball and his home team Raptors, Drake has become a part of the organization. Yesterday, he released a video gushing about his love of all things Toronto, and his dream for the team. While they are not the best team in the league, especially with the Heat gunning for a three-peat, he still has some serious hopes for their resurgence. A true professional, it looks like his vision is more long-term, instead of false short-term expectations. Here’s to a good season.
