YOU CAN PAY FOR PROTECTION
For $100 you can enable passive mode in the quick menu by holding the back button. You need $100 on your character not in the bank to enable it so try and keep at least that much on you for emergencies. When all else fails and you’re being harassed continually by another player you can enable passive mode and no bullets will do damage to you. You should keep in mind that you can’t pull out your weapon or enter a car otherwise you’ll turn it off. Passive mode won’t protect you from being hit by a car so smarter players online will notice this and be quick to turn to vehicular manslaughter, so finding anything unbreakable to stand on off the ground will make you pretty much untouchable.
If all else fails you can just leave the session, most people will feel the need to get revenge but certain players online are just plain jerks and are only playing to find and kill people like you repeatedly. So don’t give them the satisfaction, if they are hampering your good time just find another game session and try to keep out of trouble. These kinds of players eventually build up bad rep and get banished to the “Bad Sport” sessions with other greifers. So do your part to be a good citizen in a world full of criminals and over time you’ll start to find sessions with less aggressive players, or at least less aggressive by GTA’s standards.
