memo-luckyWhen it was announced that Kerry Washington was set to cover the December/January issue of Lucky Magazine, the anticipation started escalating. The photograph, taken by Patrick Demarchelier, shows the gorgeous actress Photoshopped well beyond the line where good taste turns bad. Chen’s Instagram account, where she also shared the cover image, has received over 150 comments – and the readers are not being kind. Some of the feedback includes statements like, “Awful,” “Kerry deserves better than this,” and “Oprah looks great here!”

There was word swirling around the internet that Chen had made comments such as “We’re not miracle workers” and that her staff “did the best they could with the subject”. These rumors have been widely laid to rest by the fact that no screen shots or other records support the claim that those statements were ever made. On the other hand, Chen did defend herself by saying, “I’m still pretty new to this. It’s only been four months…Conversation is a good thing.”
