Both avid and casual listeners usually know good music when they hear it. And once again, Jon Bellion has released an album that surpasses all of our already high expectations, pleasing the large majority of those that have listened just off the first go-around.

My fellow Long Island native has consistently shown mastery in all aspects of music making, from writing, to producing, to rapping and singing.

From the opening track on The Separation, it’s clear that things are going to be different for the (not so) long-awaited successor to February’s Translations Through Speakers. Upon a first listen one gets the impression of an all-around higher quality effort – and it never turns back.
